Senior Project Director
Senior Project Director – Grid-Scale Energy & Infrastructure
📍 London (Victoria)
Mint Selection are hiring a Senior Project Director to join a fast-growing Independent Power Producer, specialising in delivering grid-scale energy and flexible generation projects across the UK.
This role sits at the forefront of the delivery function, taking accountability for the successful execution of major infrastructure projects from late-stage development through construction and commissioning. Project values typically range from £100m–£500m, delivered via complex multi-package contracting strategies across enabling works, civils, M&E and commissioning.
As part of the evolution of the delivery structure, this position has been created to strengthen senior oversight closer to the “coalface.” You will sit between executive leadership and Project Directors, ensuring delivery remains hands-on, commercially robust, and execution-focused.
The Role
- Provide overall leadership and accountability across 1–3 major infrastructure projects
- Line-manage and mentor 1–2 Project Directors, elevating delivery standards and ensuring effective execution
- Bridge the gap between strategic oversight and on-the-ground delivery, remaining close to project detail and key decision-making
- Drive project delivery strategy, including:
- Contracting approach
- Sequencing
- Risk mitigation
- Manage multiple EPC and contractor packages, ensuring effective interface coordination across all disciplines
- Own programme, cost, risk and commercial performance at both project and portfolio level
- Lead high-value contract negotiations and maintain strong contractor and supplier relationships
- Act as the senior interface across:
- Development
- Engineering
- Grid
- Investment stakeholders
- Ensure robust governance, reporting and alignment across all phases of the project lifecycle

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
