Job Description
Make your mark as a Senior Project Engineer (Acoustics) at Gardline!
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Acoustics Project Engineer to join Gardline, based in Great Yarmouth on a permanent basis. As a bright and ambitious individual, you will foster strong working relationships across technical functions, commercial, operations, and reporting departments. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate cross-functional teams to design, plan, and deliver acoustic and environmental engineering services and products to both internal and external clients. This leading role is at the forefront of Gardline’s operations, and we are looking for a proactive and passionate engineering professional to significantly impact the organization and drive future success.
Your responsibilities as a Senior Project Engineer (Acoustics)
- Lead and Manage Teams: Oversee the Acoustics and Environmental Technical engineering team within Engineering.
- Technical Project Management: Coordinate technical activities on assigned projects and act as the interface between offshore operations and onshore support functions.
- Project Planning: Understand project requirements and define clear goals and objectives to prepare technical programmes of work.
- Risk Management: Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Design & Installation: Plan and coordinate multiple technical disciplines to design, install, and commission multi-discipline engineering packages onto vessels operating globally.
- Support Commercial Team: Assist with the preparation of bids and quotations by reviewing client scopes of work, providing technical solutions, cost information, and schedules.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and control performance at all stages in the project lifecycle, applying effective coaching interventions as required.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide local and remote troubleshooting and technical support for in-field operations.
- Contractor Management: Manage 3rd party services to ensure seamless integration into Gardline’s operations.
- Vessel Mobilisations: Attend and coordinate complex mobilisations, including creating deck plans, lifting plans, and potentially sailing with the vessel.
- Incident Investigation: Conduct investigations into incidents and equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement mitigation plans.
- R&D Support: Support R&D to introduce new products into the operational environment, which may include sailing for equipment trials.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to and promotion of company QA and HSE procedures.

Qualifications
Your qualities and Experience:
- BEng/BSc in relevant discipline (Acoustics, Engineering Electronics & Mechanical, or similar)
- Industry recognised project management qualification (desirable)
- CEng in relevant discipline
- Experience of industry, acoustics + technical either from geophysical, environmental, seismic, geotechnical, university research
- Onshore experience either doing or assisting with technical project engineering is essential for this role.
- Client interfacing experience as a technical authority.
- Capable of passing an ENG1 and attaining an STCW95 as minimum, and any relevant additional safety courses as industry deem fit.

- Must live within commutable distance of site
- Where you will work: If UK based, Hewett Park, Hewett Road, Great Yarmouth, NR31 0NN. However, we would consider candidates who can live and work in Papendrecht, Netherlands or Sharjah, UEA.
- Full-time job: The position of Senior Project Engineer (Acoustics) is a full-time, permanent role, 37.5 hours per week.
