About the job:

We are seeking a Senior Project Electrical Design Engineer to join our soon-to-be-launched Birmingham office, working closely with our established Dublin team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the growth of our new UK hub while delivering major hyperscale data centre projects across the EMEA region.

The role will initially be fully remote. Once the Birmingham office is operational, flexible attendance will be required as part of a hybrid working model.

As a Senior Project Electrical Design Engineer, you will work within the data centre sector, leading electrical design packages from concept through to construction. You will act as a key point of contact for clients and design teams, ensuring delivery aligns with programme, budget and quality expectations.

You will provide technical direction to support engineers and BIM technicians, working both independently and collaboratively to ensure designs are delivered in line with construction timelines while maintaining high technical and quality standards.

About you:

  • Honours Degree – Chartered an advantage but not essential
  • 10+ years as a Senior Engineer
  • Must have electrical building services design experience within Data Centre engineering projects
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical design and engineering techniques
  • Deep knowledge of ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards
  • Working knowledge of Autocad, Dialux, Amtech, and REVIT an advantage
  • Confident leading projects from the concept stage to completion
  • Communicative and able to liaise with clients, architects, and project managers
  • Manage the specification and design of Electrical Building Services systems for a range of projects
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
