Over the past 35 years, we have grown into a turnkey Principal Contractor offering in-house tradespeople, with a projected turnover of £85m. About The Role: The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for the safe, commercially successful, and timely delivery of assigned projects from estimating handover through to final completion and client sign-off.
The role manages the project lifecycle including design management, procurement strategy, programme delivery, commercial performance, stakeholder engagement, and project governance.
The Project Manager leads the project team including Assistant Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors, and the wider supply chain to ensure alignment with company standards, contractual obligations, and client expectations. The responsibilities of the Project Manager will include but are not limited to:

Generally, the above hours will be flexible in line with the needs of the business. We operate a fair working policy but if any extended overtime is worked by agreement of you line manager, then overtime payment will be applicable
- Significant experience working at Project Manager level.
- Experience delivering complex construction or engineering projects.
- Data Centre / Critical Facilities experience desirable.
- Electrical relevant qualifications preferred.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS Managers Card.
- NVQ Level 6 Construction Site Management or equivalent.

- Develop and maintain procurement schedule aligned with programme milestones.
- Lead procurement of subcontractor packages and major equipment.
- Review and approve subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Negotiate commercial terms to achieve best value procurement.
- Support QS with valuations, cost reporting and forecasting.
- Lead variation identification, justification and submission to the client.
- Monitor project cost performance and labour allocation.
- Protect project margin and manage commercial risk.
Reporting, Documentation & Handover
- Issue weekly flash reports and monthly project reports to internal and client stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting systems.
- Ensure all QA/QC documentation and certification is collected and reviewed.
- Oversee preparation of O&M manuals and CDM H&S files.
- Ensure record drawings are accurate and issued to the client.
- Manage practical completion and client sign-off process.
Team Management & Leadership
- Lead Assistant Project Managers, Site Managers and project delivery teams.
- Promote collaboration and high performance across the project team.
- Provide mentoring and development support to Assistant Project Managers.
- Manage subcontractor performance and supply chain relationships.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
Continued Professional Development
- Maintain up to date knowledge of industry standards and technologies.
- Attend relevant CPD, training and industry events.
- Develop leadership capability to progress to Senior Project Manager level.
Flexibility & Business Support
- Work outside normal hours where required to support project delivery.
- Support business development activities including client engagement and tender support.
- Assist Project & Contracts Managers with delegated tasks over and above these responsibilities.
- Assist senior leadership with strategic initiatives and project reviews.
Design Review & Pre Construction
- Lead estimating handover meetings and review all tender information.
- Obtain detailed understanding of project scope, specifications, ERs and commercial allowances.
- Review project programme, sequencing and critical path.
- Establish and maintain the project risk register.
- Manage the RFI process and design clarifications.
- Coordinate with the design team to ensure all design deliverables align with programme requirements.
- Review technical submittals and manage approval process with the client team.
- Ensure design development aligns with construction sequencing and procurement strategy.

Project Mobilisation & Site Establishment
- Mobilise the project team and clearly define roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure project documentation, reporting and governance processes are established.
- Confirm site establishment aligns with CPP, HSQE and client requirements.
- Ensure all pre-construction documentation is completed prior to site commencement.
- Coordinate project logistics and site mobilisation strategy.
Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE)
- Ensure compliance with company HSQE procedures and ISO accreditations.
- Ensure Construction Phase Plan, RAMS and permits are implemented effectively.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across the project team.
- Monitor HSQE performance through regular reporting and site reviews.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and environmental legislation.
Project Delivery & Construction Management

Lead overall project delivery in line with programme milestones.

Monitor site progress, quality and productivity through regular site engagement.

Chair project progress meetings with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Coordinate the project team to ensure efficient delivery of construction activities.

Ensure QA/QC procedures are implemented and maintained throughout delivery.

Manage commissioning activities and ensure all testing and verification is completed.

Ensure Red Pen drawings and record documentation are maintained throughout the project.
