Senior Project Manager

Senior Project Manager (Service Transformation)

Contract: 6 – 9 months

Location: Remote (UK)

About the Role

The Senior Project Manager (Service Transformation) is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of one or more critical projects/workstreams within the Transformation Programme. Reporting to the Programme Director, this role ensures on-time execution, adherence to scope, and alignment with programme goals, ultimately driving transformational success.

The role bridges strategy and delivery, translating programme plans into execution-ready activities, fostering cross-functional collaboration, control, and stakeholder alignment.


Core Responsibilities

Project Delivery Ownership

  • Oversees full lifecycle project delivery, from initiation to closure
  • Develops and sustains detailed project schedules, timelines, and deliverables
  • Ensures active alignment with:
    • Programme priorities
    • Project scope/objectives
    • Quality standards and deadlines
  • Proactively identifies and addresses dependencies between projects/streams

Planning & Execution Management

  • Defines clear project scope, success criteria, and deliverables
  • Decomposes complex programme objectives into actionable plans/activities
  • Monitors progress against the programme roadmap, ensuring synchronicity
  • Optimises resource allocation and utilisation to support delivery
  • Enforces coherent cross-functional execution, addressing interface risks

Risk & Issue Management

  • Proactively anticipates, assesses, and mitigates project-level risks
  • Develops contingency plans and tracks risk trends
  • Escalates critical blockers promptly to the Programme Director
  • Ensures rapid, accountable problem-solving across teams

Stakeholder Management

  • Engages diverse stakeholders across functions/regions for clarity and buy-in
  • Maintains alignment on roles, responsibilities, and deliverables
  • Delivers timely, structured updates to stakeholders on progress/risks
  • Facilitates ownership-based decision-making, escalating as required

Reporting & Governance

  • Produces accurate, standard-aligned reporting to PMO/Prog. Director
  • Ensures data integrity in project records and KPIs
  • Supports programme governance through compliance and reporting cycles
  • Prepares compelling briefing materials for reviews

Change & Adoption Support

  • Aligns delivery plans with Change teams for actionable roadmaps
  • Supports the transition of change initiatives at project-level
  • Identifies business readiness risks tied to adoption
  • Ensures embedded implementation of deliverables

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Orchestrates matrix teams, SMEs, and external partners
  • Cultivates ownership and accountability in cross-functional delivery
  • Clarifies roles/responsibilities to eliminate ambiguity
  • Embraces a results-driven culture under evolving timelines

Key Requirements

Technical Proficiencies

  • Expertise in:

    • Project planning, tracking, and execution
    • Risk management under uncertainty
    • Dependency resolution across streams
    • Resource and budget monitoring
  • Methodology experience (with a trackable certification preferred):

    • PMI®, PRINCE2®, Agile (Scaled, DevOps, or hybrid)

  • 10+ years in project/portfolio management, ideally with:

    • Multi-disciplinary governance (matrix structures, geopolitical/stakeholder geography)
  • History of successfully delivering cross-functional results under tightening deadlines
  • Prior programme support/contact—preferable within tech/operations at scale

  • Non-negotiable: Rigour in producing credible, actionable reporting data

Team Interactions

Coordinates daily/weekly with:

  • Operational/systems stakeholders ( 자신은 interim and future states)
  • Finance/data teams (cost/benefit tracking)
  • Note: Leverages governance tools (Jira, MS Project) and involvement tools for decisions
