Where You'll Be Working
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.
We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
This role will be in our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.
This role will be working on a major project in Aberdeen.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll be a key part in leading and delivering complex Overhead Lines projects across Scotland. You’ll take full ownership of project planning, execution, safety performance, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and reliability.
- Lead and mentor project managers and members of the project management team with a vision of progressing to Project Director level
- Ensure health, safety, and quality plans are completed for all sites
- Ensure the required site documentation is in place
- Lead on the communication of changes to internal departments
- Provide technical support to the Design team
- Act as the main contact for third-party interactions
- Lead on the project resource management with Operations and Portfolio Heads
- Review and escalate contract changes with the Commercial team
- Improve project efficiency and profitability
- Submit accurate time bookings, allowances, and expenses
- Oversee and produce monthly and close-out reports
- Represent the company to clients and stakeholders

What You’ll Bring
- Extensive knowledge of the UK electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure, ideally with some experience in Overhead Line construction and refurbishment projects
- 5+ years of experience in managing multiple construction projects as a Senior Project Manager
- Understanding of NEC3/4 construction contracts
- Client-facing experience with blue-chip clients, including leading stakeholder meetings
- Project Management qualifications or a degree in Higher Education
- Recognized Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate)
- Full UK driving license - willingness to travel and work away where required
