Senior Project Manager
Senior IT Project Manager - Workforce Management & Scheduling System Implementation
- Type: 2-year Fixed-Term Contract (FTC)
- Location: Based 4 days per week in London
- Sector: Major UK transport organisation
About the Role
A major UK transport organisation is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead an Operations project focused on implementing HASTUS, a third-party workforce shift scheduling and rostering platform. This platform is designed to optimise public transport scheduling, operations, and workforce management.
The project will specifically address:
- Operator duties
- Workforce rosters
- Daily assignments
- Operational readiness
The role supports consistent, efficient, and scalable workforce management across the organisation's federated operating model, spanning multiple global locations, operating companies, and technology partners.
The Project Manager will lead the end-to-end delivery of this implementation. Experience in workforce management, IT project delivery, or transport/hospitality sectors is highly valued.

- Deliver the full project lifecycle, including mobilisation, implementation, and transition to business-as-usual (BAU).
- Oversee programme scope, roadmap, milestones, budget, risk, dependencies, and benefits realisation.
- Leverage HASTUS to enhance workforce scheduling, rostering, assignments, and operational readiness.
- Serve as the prime point of contact between operating companies, Group functions, and third-party implementation partners.
- Manage multi-business and federated models, balancing Group standards with local operational needs.
- Establish, initiate, and lead programme governance, reporting, and decision-making forums.
- Anticipate, identify, and mitigate programme, operational, and industrial risks (escalating as necessary).
- Oversee system integration, data migration, testing, and cutover planning.
- Oversee change management, end-user training, and operational readiness across multiple locations.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with senior operational leaders, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Required Skills & Experience

- Proven track record as a Project Manager delivering complex technology transformations and system implementations.
- Experience with:
- Workforce management, scheduling, rostering, or optimisation platforms (desirable but not essential)
- Federated/multi-business environments
- Stakeholder engagement, including senior operational leadership
- Commercial, risk, and governance frameworks
- Ability to translate operational priorities into scalable technological solutions (and vice versa).
- Experience in the:
- Transport sector (highly preferred)
- Other sectors requiring significant front-line workforce management (e.g. hospitality, retail).
- Direct experience in the implementation of HASTUS or similar workforce planning systems (highly desirable).
- Demonstrated capability in delivering global projects.
