Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering major energy and utility projects across the UK. This Senior Project Manager role will support the delivery of a significant long-term gas transmission asset upgrade programme within the regulated energy sector, based in the East of England. The project involves complex asset integrity improvements, including corrosion protection upgrades, buried pipeline infrastructure and associated civils and mechanical works within a live operational environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with experience delivering National Gas projects, gas transmission schemes or major regulated infrastructure programmes. Candidates with a strong main contractor background, experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and delivering projects within live energy environments will be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the successful delivery of major gas transmission infrastructure projects from commencement through to completion.
  • Managing project requirements, contractual obligations and delivery timescales to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Taking ownership of project governance including risk registers, issue registers, programmes, budgets and reporting requirements.
  • Providing accurate progress updates, reports and presentations to clients, senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Building strong working relationships with National Gas, designers, consultants and delivery teams.
  • Managing stakeholder engagement across a complex live operational environment.
  • Supporting and facilitating project meetings, ensuring actions, decisions and key information are accurately recorded.
  • Working closely with commercial teams and Quantity Surveyors to support CVRs, forecasting, profitability and cost control.
  • Identifying project risks, opportunities and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, performance and delivery against agreed scopes.
  • Ensuring subcontract packages are safely and efficiently delivered in line with project requirements.
  • Promoting high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality management throughout the project.
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, company procedures and client standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
