Senior Project Manager

Senior Project Manager - Commercial Strategy & Portfolio (12-Month Contract)

12 months (extension likely, initiatives expected to run until 2030) Hybrid (2-3 days onsite) - Hertfordshire Full Time

About the Role

We're supporting a global pharmaceutical organisation in appointing a Senior Project Manager to sit within their Commercial Strategy & Product Portfolio team. This role is focused on driving the execution of portfolio-level initiatives, ensuring alignment across cross-functional stakeholders, and bringing structure, pace and visibility to key commercial priorities across multiple products and markets. You will operate as a strategic delivery lead, working closely with senior leadership to translate strategy into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Strategy & Execution

Translate commercial strategy into clear roadmaps, milestones and delivery plans Support management of a multi-asset product portfolio across markets/indications Track performance, identify risks, and drive mitigation strategies

Programme & Project Delivery

Lead delivery of key commercial initiatives including: Product launches Indication expansions Lifecycle management programmes Ensure delivery is aligned to timeline, budget and strategic objectives

Cross-Functional Leadership

Drive alignment across: Commercial / Brand Teams Market Access & HEOR Medical Affairs Supply Chain / Manufacturing Finance & Forecasting Lead stakeholders without direct authority to ensure accountability and progress

Governance & Executive Reporting

Prepare and lead steering committees and governance forums Provide regular updates to senior leadership (Director / VP level) Deliver clear reporting on risks, progress and key decision points

Strategic Insights & Decision Support

Analyse market trends, competitive landscape and product performance Develop data-driven recommendations to support portfolio decisions

Experience Required

Strong experience in pharmaceutical or biotech environments Proven track record in project/programme management within commercial functions Experience supporting: Product launches Portfolio strategy Cross-market initiatives Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders in a matrix organisation
