Senior Project Manager - District Heating

London | 12-Month Contract | ASAP Start
Competitive Day Rates | Ltd Co / Umbrella

The Opportunity

An established mechanical services contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of major district heating and energy centre projects across London. This is a high-impact role with full project ownership—ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, technically complex environments and has a strong track record delivering large-scale mechanical or heat network schemes.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading full lifecycle delivery of district heating and energy projects
  • Managing site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers across multiple workstreams
  • Driving programme, cost, quality, and HSE performance
  • Overseeing large-scale pipework, plant rooms, and network installation
  • Managing client relationships and acting as the key point of contact
  • Controlling commercials including variations, valuations, and budgets
  • Identifying risks and keeping projects on track in a challenging urban environment

What We're Looking For

  • Proven background in mechanical building services or pipework projects
  • Strong experience delivering district heating / energy centre projects
  • Track record working on complex London-based sites
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing and commissioning
  • Experience with NEC or similar contracts
  • Confident leader with strong commercial awareness

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Degree (or equivalent)
  • Project Management certification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP) desirable
