Role profile
Osborne Clarke are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our International Change & Transformation function within our Business Services Group, based from either our London or Bristol offices.
This position will play a pivotal role in managing and successfully delivering a number of complex, strategic projects across the international business, ensuring alignment with Osborne Clarke’s strategic goals and the delivery of tangible, embedded business outcomes.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering hybrid working, with travel expected as required within the UK and internationally.
The role
The Senior Project Manager will be a key member of the Change & Transformation team, working closely with the International Director of Operations & BD, the Head of Portfolio & Delivery, and other senior stakeholders across the network. You will lead critical, high-profile projects from initiation through to benefits realisation, with a particular focus on stakeholder engagement, change management and the embedding of sustainable business outcomes.
You will also provide matrix management and mentoring to project managers as required, promoting a culture of collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement across the project portfolio.
Other Key Responsibilities Include
Project Delivery
- Directing and managing complex, strategic projects from beginning to end, with a specific focus on delivering and embedding agreed business benefits and outcomes.
- Defining, in collaboration with senior stakeholders, project scope, goals and deliverables that support the firm in achieving its strategic objectives.
- Liaising with business analysts and sponsors on the creation and refinement of business cases.
- Ensuring successful delivery of projects to agreed timelines and budget, and continually validating the achievability of planned benefits.
- Developing and managing full-scale, integrated project plans, including the identification and management of inter-dependencies and the critical path.
- Coaching, motivating and supervising project delivery teams (including third parties), influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

Collaboration
- Working closely with the UK Change & Transformation team to ensure seamless communication, full transparency of OCI projects, and alignment within the wider network programme and project portfolio.
- Building strong relationships with a wide group of international stakeholders, including national business COOs, Business Analysis Leads, PMO, and key business sponsors, ensuring cultural differences are understood and respected.
Reporting and Governance
- Delivering clear, concise progress reports, proposals and presentations to key governance forums and stakeholders, including the International Board, International Council and project sub-committees.
- Providing the visibility and insight needed for effective decision-making, ensuring that critical risks, issues and inter-dependencies are communicated and escalated appropriately.
- Working with UK Change & Transformation to update and maintain the network-wide project roadmap to reflect any changes in OCI project scope or priorities.
Change, Benefits And Risk Management
- Embedding a strong focus on benefits management and the delivery of associated business outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Recognising and championing the critical role of change management, ensuring that people, process and technology impacts are clearly understood and effectively managed.
- Proactively identifying, assessing and managing project risks and issues, and ensuring mitigation strategies are in place and monitored.
- Supporting the promotion of a culture of mutual understanding and effective communication across the Osborne Clarke business as a whole.
We are looking for
- An experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven record of delivering positive, tangible outcomes for complex, strategic projects.
- Extensive experience of working in a legal environment, with a strong understanding of the complexities of law firm business and legal operations structures.
- A high level of technical expertise in project management, with a full and complete understanding of the project lifecycle and how to use project methodologies to deliver tangible business benefits.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven client relationship and stakeholder management experience, including regular engagement with C-suite and senior leadership.
- The ability to build strong relationships with a wide group of international stakeholders, adapting style and approach to different audiences and cultural contexts.
