Senior Project Manager - Transmission

Business Unit: GGP

Reporting to: Business General Manager

Purpose of the Position

This role will hold total responsibility for the delivery of all projects within the relevant GGP Business Unit. It focuses on the safe, efficient delivery of work while maintaining the highest possible standards of safety, quality, cost efficiency, and timeliness. The ideal candidate will:

  • Maximise productivity and cost control
  • Foster trust-based relationships with customers
  • Operate under defined margins, time, and quality standards

Reports directly to the Business Unit General Manager.

Responsibilities & Duties

Key accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing clear direction and optimising resource utilisation through improved work programming and scheduling
  • Driving continuous improvement via innovation and best practices
  • Ensuring works comply with best-in-class safety and quality standards
  • Delivering tendered margins consistently
  • Submitting claims to maximise cash flows
  • Managing and motivating employees and subcontractors, including performance management
  • Tracking work location budgets and managing staffing levels for efficient productivity
  • Preparing periodic reports for Customer reviews and monitoring financial progress
  • Addressing HR-related matters (including disciplinary issues) at the site level
  • Reporting financial and operational data to the Finance Department
  • Building professional relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including:
    • Number of safety audits undertaken
    • Product profit margins
    • Operating costs
    • Cash flow
    • Attendance levels

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven managerial track record with the ability to execute critical tasks in real-time
  • Experience in budget management
  • Strong skills in work planning and execution
  • Ability to manage and motivate industrial staff
  • Customer-centric decision-making capability
  • Commercial stability for financial performance adherence
  • Deep understanding of quality and safety management
  • Target delivery expertise in contracting environments
  • Capacity for Detail-focused execution, ensuring high efficiency and reliability
