Project Manager (Construction & Facilities Management) – Pharmaceutical Sector – Germany

About the Role
Mace is providing support in the global asset management strategy for a multinational pharmaceutical client based in Germany. Since establishing its dedicated Frankfurt office in 2003, we’ve grown steadily, delivering project management, construction, facilities management, preconstruction, and technical due diligence partnerships with local developers and multinational corporations.
The role involves collaborating closely with the client’s team to ensure a large building project is completed:
- Safely
- Within an agreed timeframe and budget Working alongside architects, surveyors, and other professionals to oversee the practical execution at every construction stage.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish strong relationships with the client and key stakeholders.
- Set up clear, regular communication channels to address emerging issues.
- Chair weekly progress meetings and **report on projects’ weekly commercial progress.
- Management of relationships with contractors, liaising on-site.

Project Delivery & Leadership
- Manage and develop the project team while ensuring objectives are met and resources are competed.
- Bring in additional support and specialist expertise when needed.
- Establish and monitor project operating procedures, including:
- Adherence to the management plan
- Safe working practices for all site personnel
- Engagement of subject matter experts throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with Mace’s management systems at all times.
- Provide timely financial reports (forecasts, budgets, fees, income).
Closing Processes
- Oversee close-out and practical completion schedules, issuing all required documentation.
Core Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant degree qualification and professional membership (e.g., chartered institute).
- Proven experience in a similar role, including:
- Expertise in pharmaceutical project management.
- In-depth understanding of the built environment and construction lifecycle.
German-Specific Competence
- Strong grasp of HOAI phases and VOB contract procedures.
- Sound knowledge of German legal frameworks:
- Health and safety regulations.
- Contract law (BGB, VOB).
- Environmental and building regulations.
