Senior Project Manager

Senior Project Manager (RTB – FID)

Utility-Scale Solar & BESS | UK

Following the successful development of a substantial UK pipeline of utility-scale renewable energy projects, our client is transitioning from a development-focused model to long-term ownership and operation of assets.

With multiple Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects advancing toward construction, they are seeking a Senior Project Manager to take full ownership through the Ready-to-Build (RTB) to Final Investment Decision (FID) stages—a pivotal phase that dictates long-term project success.

This is a strategic client-side role, driving projects through commercialisation, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring every project is investment-ready before handover to construction. The role offers high exposure to senior leadership and an opportunity to shape how projects are delivered across an expanding UK portfolio.

The Opportunity

As Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead projects from RTB to FID, encompassing all commercial, technical and financial activities required to secure investment approval.
  • Bridge disciplines across engineering, commercial, finance, legal, procurement, and grid/land teams to deliver investment-ready assets.
  • Ensure projects are fully de-risked, commercially robust, and execution-ready before handover to construction.
  • Shape standard operating processes as the organisation scales its portfolio and transitions from development into asset operations.

Key Objectives

  • Chart a clear programme path from RTB strategically every project, balancing schedule, budget and risk.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration, ensuring smooth alignment between teams focused on development, engineering, financing, contracts and construction.
  • Drive governance, risk management, and stakeholder reporting to maintain investment-grade momentum.
  • Advance procurement strategies and contractor engagement, including EPC negotiations, to set up construction success.
  • Manage lender interfaces, technical due diligence data and investment deliverables, ensuring projects meet financing requirements.
  • Support the long-term transition into asset operations by delivering readiness checks pre-construction.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
