About The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you'll have overall accountability for the successful delivery of major power cabling projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, budget and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading the successful delivery of complex power cabling projects from initiation through to commissioning and handover.
  • Providing strategic leadership to project teams, creating a collaborative environment where people can perform at their best and achieve common goals.
  • Managing project budgets, programmes, resources, risks and opportunities to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Maintaining a relentless focus on health, safety and environmental performance, embedding a Zero Harm culture across all project activities.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
  • Overseeing project governance, reporting and assurance activities, ensuring effective project controls are maintained throughout delivery.
  • Leading project reviews and ensuring robust risk, opportunity and performance management processes are in place.
  • Driving project delivery strategies and ensuring resources are effectively managed to meet project objectives.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, commercial, procurement and support functions.
  • Supporting the development of future talent through coaching, mentoring and leadership of project teams, including Project Managers and Engineers.
  • Ensuring procurement and supply chain strategies align with project requirements and delivery programmes.
  • Monitoring project performance, KPIs and quality standards, implementing improvement actions where required.

What you'll be doing

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background delivering large-scale infrastructure projects within the Power Transmission & Distribution sector, with significant experience on power cabling schemes.

You'll Ideally Have

  • Proven experience delivering major power cabling projects within the Power Transmission & Distribution sector.
  • Strong knowledge of underground cable installation and associated power infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience managing projects throughout the full lifecycle, from early development and design through to commissioning and closeout.
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities, with experience leading large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing Project Managers, engineers and wider project delivery teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, forecasting and financial performance.
  • Experience managing project risks, opportunities, resources and complex delivery programmes.
  • A sound understanding of construction contracts, procurement and supply chain management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CDM regulations and industry health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Relevant project management qualifications and/or engineering background.
  • A flexible approach with the willingness to travel and work across project locations throughout the UK as required.
