Equans is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Rotherham on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The role holder will be responsible for the management and organisation of projects delivery for the Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire Region, circa £5m per annum, taking the lead in the provision of mentoring, advice, assistance, and support to our colleagues’/customers.
They will proactively manage and assist the region by effectively managing and monitoring all project activities and producing regular and supporting performance updates to the Operations Director.
What will you deliver?
- Manage the performance and service of all staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure an effective and efficient service.
- Deliver all work to the highest safety standards with our approved procedures, within budget and the appropriate timescales as well as delivery of work on plan.
- Assisting with scoping out and pricing work, interacting with our client and communicate the progress of all work being carried out.
- Focus on customer service with a “can do” attitude with the flexibility and adaptability to work within the team in a changing business environment.
- Identification and reporting of areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental).
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments / method statements are in place and undertaken on all work.
- Facilitate and chair project meetings and regular progress meetings as required.
- Carry out financial and technical appraisals of project options, performing feasibility studies, site surveys and liaison with designers and station staff as required to produce.

Who are we looking for?
- Project Management experience within engineering/construction projects, including demonstrable evidence of the application of project management processes.
- Previous experience of delivering projects of circa £1m in value.
- Proven knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including Construction Design Management and Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Budget monitoring, commercial awareness and experience at managing contractors.
- Strong understanding of the need for quality within the project environment and familiarity with the use and structure of Quality Assurance documentation.
- Proven ability in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience of supervising and setting contractors/sub-contractors to work in their roles and experience in leading a project team.
- Strong networking ability in order to keep up to date with innovations/new practices that will add value.
- An understanding of Safeguarding obligations whilst working in a school environment.
