Senior Project Manager – Equipment Delivery & Commissioning

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Equipment Delivery & Commissioning to strengthen our Project Management function during a critical operational period. The ideal candidate will bring strong delivery leadership to complex equipment-focused projects, driving successful outcomes through hands-on, strategic management.

About the Role

This is not a role for a textbook project manager. We are looking for a practitioner, commercially astute individual with real-world experience managing equipment projects in fast-paced, high-demand manufacturing or engineering environments. You must be capable of blending technical know-how with business acumen to navigate intricate project dynamics and deliver successfully.

The role focuses on equipment manufacturers, OEMs, systems integrators, automation businesses, machinery suppliers or engineered-product companies. The primary responsibility lies in overseeing full project lifecycles—from ordering to documentation, customer approvals, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), logistics and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

Project End-to-End Leadership

  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from customer order handover through design, procurement, manufacture, documentation, FAT, logistics, installation, and final handover.
  • Adhere to commercial and project objectives, ensuring delivery against contract requirements, while managing risks and protecting the business.

Commercial & Technical Management

  • Review customer contracts, analysing delivery obligations, key milestones, and acceptance criteria to assess risk.
  • Manage variations, change requests, and scope creep proactively, ensuring discrepancies are recorded, justified, and contracted appropriately.
  • Coordinate deal defenses, justifying decisions and maintaining profitability margins.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
