Senior Project Manager - A&D

About the Role

As a Senior Project Manager - A&D, your mission is to manage the day-to-day operational aspects of complex NPI projects ($5–10M+) to ensure they are delivered according to agreed specifications, timescales, and budgets while adhering to company procedures. You will report to the Programme Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the project meets its performance and timescale objectives as defined by the Master Specification
  • Create a cross-functional project plan encompassing all tasks needed to deliver the project in adherence to the Product Commercialisation Process (PCP)
  • Plan projects and agree timescales with the Programme Manager
  • Ensure all required resources and skills are available to deliver project milestones while adhering to agreed dates
  • Highlight resource or planning issues in advance to the Programme Manager
  • Lead the Project team’s activities through a centrally visible plan, regularly reporting progress, addressing exceptions, and escalating matters appropriately
  • Monitor the project plan, mitigate diverts, and intervene or escalate deviations to the Programme Manager

Requirements

We encourage applications from candidates who don’t meet every requirement—we value diverse experiences and perspectives.

  • A good Engineering/Scientific degree
  • A Project management qualification (preferably PRINCE2, APM certified, or equivalent) is desirable
  • 5+ years of product development experience in a high-technology environment, with 3 years in a Project Management capacity
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects—a strong understanding of delivering products on time, to specification, and on budget
  • Proven ability to generate resource plans, drive schedule adherence, and maintain flexibility for rapid change to meet customer and company needs
  • Must be a good communicator with fluent spoken and written English
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organisational awareness, and impact
  • Exceptional influencing, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills (both internally and externally)
  • Ability to streamline processes, champion clear communication, and create solutions at all levels

Job Location

This role offers a hybrid arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and on-site at our Bristol, United Kingdom (UK) office.
