Job Title: Senior Project Manager – ASTI Energy Programme

Location: Peterhead / Aberdeen

Company: Balfour Beatty Regional Scotland

Project: Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI)

About The Role

Balfour Beatty is a delivery partner on the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) programme — one of the most significant energy infrastructure programmes in Scotland.

We are looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager (Buildings) to support delivery across key ASTI hubs, including Peterhead (Netherton) and associated project locations.

This is a long-term opportunity to work within a multi-year energy programme, offering scale, complexity, and real career progression.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading project delivery within the ASTI programme across buildings and enabling works
  • Managing complex interfaces with civils, energy, and supply-chain partners
  • Owning programme, cost, quality, safety, and risk at project level
  • Leading multi-disciplinary site and project teams
  • Maintaining strong client relationships within a regulated energy environment

Who we're looking for

  • Strong experience delivering complex construction projects
  • Comfortable operating in multi-project / programme environments
  • Proven leadership, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management
  • Background in buildings, infrastructure, energy, or regulated environments

Why Balfour Beatty

  • Long-term secured pipeline of energy work
  • Exposure to one of the UK’s most critical net-zero enabling programmes
  • Strong progression into Project Director and Programme leadership roles
  • Flexible working, site support, and regional mobility options

If you want scale, longevity, and technical challenge — ASTI delivers all three.

Professional and personal development

The size and scale of Balfour Beatty coupled with our strong pipeline of work provides incredible opportunities, regardless of what stage you are at in your career.

We encourage and empower our employees to take control of their career and explore which part of the business they want to work in and what role is right for them. We actively encourage our managers and employees to have open communication throughout the year about wellbeing, development, and career opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
