Project Manager - Specialty Lines Insurance

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Project Manager - Specialty Lines Insurance to work for our client within the Insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London or Manchester.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of strategic business and technology change initiatives across their Specialty Lines Insurance portfolio. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering complex projects within the London Market or Commercial Insurance sector and possess a deep understanding of Specialty Lines products and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of business and technology change projects within a Specialty Lines Insurance environment.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and governance activities.
  • Partner with underwriting, operations, claims, technology, and compliance teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide clear reporting and stakeholder management across senior leadership and programme governance forums.
  • Drive project execution, business readiness, and change adoption to ensure benefits are realised.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within the Insurance industry, with a strong focus on Specialty Lines Insurance.
  • Demonstrable experience working across Specialty classes such as Financial Lines, Cyber, Professional Indemnity, D&O, Marine, Energy, Aviation, or Trade Credit.
  • Strong knowledge of London Market, Lloyd’s, Commercial, or Specialty Insurance operating models.
  • Experience delivering business transformation, regulatory, operational, or technology-driven change initiatives.
  • Proficiency in project delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches, with experience using project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar.
  • Minimum 10 years delivering complex projects within the Insurance sector.
