About The Role

Due to continued growth in the Northwest region, TSA Riley is seeking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to strengthen our project management team.

We have 2 offices within the Northwest region, located in:

  • Central Manchester
  • Bolton

The successful candidate could potentially work from either office to suit their convenience.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a successful and expanding project management team, working across a diverse range of clients and built environment projects. You will benefit from:

We are looking for experienced project managers who have:

  • Successfully led complex construction developments through their entire lifecycle
  • Experience across multiple sectors of the built environment
  • Backgrounds in either:
    • Consultancy
    • Client-facing environments

About Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager, your key responsibilities include:

Project Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring alignment with:
    • Agreed scope
    • Budget
    • Programme targets
  • Coordinate inputs across:
    • Procurement
    • Design
    • Delivery planning
    • Site activity
    • Contractor engagement

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with:
    • Clients
    • Consultants
    • Stakeholders
  • Provide clear and responsive communication

Commercial & Operational Oversight

  • Apply sound judgment in:
    • Risk identification
    • Issue resolution
    • Opportunity capture
  • Drive commercial performance through:
    • Budget control
    • Contract administration
    • Scope change management

Technical Skills

  • Utilise TSA Riley’s digital tools and systems to:
    • Track progress
    • Monitor risk assessment
    • Support quality reporting
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Project governance
    • Quality frameworks
    • Safety standards

About You

Qualifications & Accreditation

  • A tertiary qualification in a field relevant to shaping or delivering projects in the built environment
  • May hold (or be pursuing) professional accreditation from a relevant body, such as:
    • CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building)
    • RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)

Experience

  • Proven experience in delivering construction-related projects in either:
    • Client-side environments
    • Consulting environments
  • Note: This role is not suitable for Project Managers transitioning from unrelated industries like IT, marketing, or finance.
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Project lifecycles
    • Commercial controls
    • Contract administration (with the ability to fulfil roles such as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent as needed)

Specialised Skills

  • Strong expertise in pre-construction duties for consulting project management roles, including:
    • Design team management
    • Deviations for third-party legal agreements
  • Ability to manage:
    • Scope
    • Programme
    • Budget across complex projects, ensuring delivery against commercial and client expectations
  • Proficiency with digital tools and systems for:
    • Planning
    • Reporting
    • Coordination
    • Quality assurance

Soft Skills

  • Skilled in navigating stakeholder complexity, resolving conflict, and aligning diverse interests
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and support the professional growth of others
  • Actively builds industry reputation through:
    • High-quality project delivery
    • Knowledge sharing
