About the Role

We are inviting a talented Senior Project Manager - Business Improvement to lead and deliver strategic business improvement initiatives in our major nuclear construction programme (MNCP) at HMNB Devonport. In this critical role, you will:
- Drive operational efficiency, enhance programme performance
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement in a complex and highly regulated environment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, senior leaders, and key stakeholders
Note: This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Security Note: Due to the Defence nature of this project, candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance (SC). Having existing clearance is a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the identification, development, and delivery of strategic business improvement initiatives across the programme.
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvements, and cost reduction through structured improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, TAP).
- Oversee business improvement projects from concept development through implementation, ensuring benefits realisation.
- Develop and embed KPIs, performance frameworks, and reporting mechanisms to measure programme performance.
- Produce robust business cases and investment justifications to support funding decisions.
- Apply data analysis, root cause methodologies, and industry best practice to spot improvement opportunities.
- Embed a transformation culture across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Support governance arrangements, reporting frameworks, and senior leadership engagement.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and organisational standards (SQECOM).
- Facilitate organisational change and align stakeholders to drive adoption of improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements
- A degree qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Significant hands-on experience delivering business improvement initiatives within complex or highly regulated sectors, particularly supporting major infrastructure programmes.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with proven skills in:
- Business case development
- Benefits realisation planning
- Data analysis tools (e.g., MS Excel, Power BI)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication, capable of influencing at all levels.
- Experience managing improvement projects across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and change management skills.
- Industry experience in Defence, Nuclear, Infrastructure, or Highly Regulated Sectors (essential).
