Job Opportunity: Senior Project Manager – Data Centre Construction

Role: Senior Project Manager (Industrial, Sciences & Technology Team – Leeds)

Our rapidly growing Data Centre team in Leeds seeks experienced Senior Project Managers to join the core delivery team. The role involves overseeing large-scale data centre construction projects for high-profile technology clients nationwide.

Key focus: Fiscal and technical governance of projects from inception to commissioning.


Key Accountabilities

Project Management (Comprehensive Responsibilities)

  • Strategic input during project conception, advising on methodologies and objectives
  • Leading definition of performance metrics (time, cost, technical, and operational targets)
  • Coordinating quality, safety, health & environmental (QSHE) protocols throughout project lifecycle
  • Establishing and implementing robust project governance frameworks
  • Detailed project planning, including all key milestone breakdowns
  • Providing procurement and resource allocation guidance
  • Managing and facilitating a cross-functional team (client, consultants, and internal stakeholders)
  • Implementing performance management (KPIs, benchmarking, proactive improvement)
  • Managing change control processes
  • Monitoring financial health, ensuring accurate billing, and tracking budgets via FMS
  • Ensuring seamless project communication, from stakeholder meetings to formal reports
  • Ensuring client-facing leadership at all project stages, interfacing with consultants

Internal Accountabilities

  • Managing staff with P&L accountability where required
  • Maintaining knowledge management processes by capturing project learnings for company databases
  • Optimising Finance Management Systems (FMS) usage for accurate invoicing and financial tracking
  • Driving process improvement, from project systems to internal efficiencies

Qualifications & Experience

Technical & Operational Requirements

  • Minimum 5–10 years’ project management experience, preferably in digital/data centre construction
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Data Centre Design & Construction
    • Data Centre Management
    • Tenant Coordination
    • Applicable construction consultancy principles

Professional Certification

Advanced qualification preferred in:

  • Construction
  • Project Management
  • Engineering
  • Architectural Consultancy

Core Skills

  • End-to-end expertise across project life cycle (design, execution, handover, post-project review)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management tools, techniques, and best practices
  • Complimentary experience in residential, office environments, fit-outs, and education sectors
