Job Description
Start Here. Grow Here.
Are you a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with experience delivering infrastructure projects within Defence or similarly regulated environments? AECOM’s Defence team is growing across the East Midlands and Anglia region, and we are seeking Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to support a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work across some of the UK’s most critical and high-profile programmes, supporting the Armed Forces across the UK and overseas.
Current and upcoming projects include major infrastructure programmes at RAF Brize Norton and RAF Lakenheath, alongside wider opportunities through the CCS2 framework. This provides exposure to both UK MOD and US Visiting Forces environments across design and construction.
Our work spans the full Defence estate, from accommodation, training, and operational facilities to secure technology, aviation, and specialist infrastructure. As part of our integrated delivery team, you will help shape, plan, and deliver projects that directly support UK Defence capability, ensuring the Armed Forces have the facilities required to operate effectively and safely.
The Role
As a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager (Defence Infrastructure), you will play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure projects across the Defence estate.
You will take ownership of projects or defined work packages across the full RIBA lifecycle, from early-stage development through to construction and handover.
Working within multi-disciplinary teams, you will manage NEC contracts (PSC and ECC), engage directly with DIO and end users, and drive delivery to programme, cost, and quality requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
