Cost & Commercial Manager – Healthcare & Education Projects

The Role
As a Cost & Commercial Manager, you’ll lead cost management services for healthcare, education, and laboratory projects, ensuring efficient delivery while upholding Arcadis standards and best practices. Collaboration with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and consultants will be key, alongside leveraging your technical expertise—especially in healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Oversee the cost management of small to medium-sized healthcare, education, and laboratory projects.
- Liaise with external contractors, consultants, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Apply Arcadis controls and sector-specific expertise (especially healthcare) for compliant and high-quality delivery.

Team & Financial Management
- Lead and develop team members, sharing healthcare sector knowledge and best practices.
- Manage budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation for health sector assignments.
- Deliver multiple projects efficiently, ensuring timelines and goals are met.
Risk, Compliance & Innovation
- Provide advice on risk management, compliance, and sector regulations (e.g., ProCure 22 / ProCure 23).
- Analyse data to support commercial decision-making and process improvements.
- Drive service innovation in healthcare environments while adapting to project-specific needs.
- Escalate risks/issues for swift resolution.
Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Build strong relationships with clients to enhance satisfaction and explore new opportunities.
- Collaborate across the organisation to meet project and stakeholder objectives.
- Offer specialist advice to senior management while sharing best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Healthcare sector experience preferred, particularly with capital works frameworks (e.g., ProCure 22/23).
- Proven track record in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in managing projects from inception to completion.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g., construction, cost management, engineering, finance).
- Professional qualification (e.g., chartered status) is advantageous.
- CSCS card holder.
