A little more about your role… WSP are part of a collaborative partnership with Balfour Beatty Living Places in East Sussex which sees our teams deliver highways and infrastructures services to East Sussex County Council. The commission commenced in May 2023. We are looking to build a long-term relationship with the client and to introduce greater resilience to the business, and as part of this commitment we are looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager. You will be central to a highly collaborative team in East Sussex, responsible for the delivery of major projects for our client. You will work on a range of significant infrastructure projects across the county and also collaborate with resources from other WSP teams nationwide. WSP provides professional services on multiple long-term framework commissions and significant projects. With a team of highly skilled Project Managers and Directors, we form a market-leading force of Project Management excellence to support our clients with efficiency and rigorous attention to detail. This role offers excellent prospects for career advancement and development. You will be based from the Ringmer Depot, near Lewes. You will adopt WSP’s approach to hybrid working and should expect to be visible to the team and client in the offices near Lewes for two to three days per week. Your Team All our Project Managers take on project responsibility from the outset; owning their projects from conception to construction. Your role will be at the heart of our high-performing team, using your skills and expertise to drive technical quality and service efficiency. This is a varied role but responsibilities will include: Leading the project management process and mentoring junior team members. Coordinating multi-disciplinary inputs across projects. Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Managing resources effectively, including remote teams. Delivering compliant designs on time and within budget, meeting H&S, CDM, QA, and technical review standards. Collaborating with other WSP teams to leverage additional resources. Managing project fees and commercial positions. Ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality project delivery. Supporting the growth of the Project Management team in East Sussex. Implementing stakeholder management plans. Overseeing invoicing and cash collection in line with business procedures. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate: Experience of project management, business administration and financial planning within the engineering consiultancy or professional services sector. Familiarity with project management systems and enterprise resource planning. Line management experience and team leadership. Strong commercial and financial project management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Knowledge of CDM 2015 and NEC 4 (qualification desirable). Financial and commercial awareness in resource and project management. Don’t quite meet all the criteria?
