Project Manager - Transport Infrastructure (Alliance Partnership, Aylesbury)
About the Role
Shape the future of transport infrastructure at AtkinsRéalis, a global leader in engineering excellence. Join our growing Alliance partnership in Aylesbury as a client-side Project Manager, embedding yourself in a collaborative delivery environment where your leadership directly impact community outcomes.
You will oversee the end-to-end delivery of highway improvement and maintenance schemes, driving on-time, on-budget execution while maintaining the highest standards of excellence.
The Opportunity
As the Project Manager, your responsibilities include:
- Leading multi-disciplinary project teams focused on high-impact infrastructure development.
- Guiding clients with expert advice on strategic cost, scheduling, risk, and delivery planning.
- Building and cultivating strong client and alliance relationships for long-term collaboration.
- Producing clear, actionable reports (monthly programme updates, financials, risk assessments).
- Championing effective communication and cross-team collaboration to boost delivery outcomes.
- Proactively identifying value-add opportunities to optimise efficiency and innovation.
Your Role
- Own the end-to-end delivery of highways work packages, ensuring programme alignment with strategic objectives.
- Implement best-practice project and programme leadership built on AtkinsRéalis’s global expertise.
- Deliver adverse circumstances as a trusted advisor, supporting client decision-making.
- Act as a stakeholder advocate, bridging internal teams and external partners.
- Foster a performance culture driven by data-driven insights and risk mitigation.

About You
Experience & Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with:
- A project management qualification (e.g., APM, PMP, PRINCE2 certification), or
- Demonstrable experience managing complex infrastructure or transport projects.
Key Skills & Traits
- Exceptional leadership, with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage change, risk, and resource planning with confidence.
- Preference for candidates with NEC4 contractual experience (advantageous).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and financial reporting tools.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams with independent accountability.
- Proactive drive— pushing for continuous improvement and innovation.
