Job Description
At Costain, our Energy Sector helps our customers transition to clean energy, while providing practical solutions to improve the efficiency, sustainability, and resilience of existing infrastructure. We focus on delivering engineering, construction, and digital solutions to support the UK’s transition to a low-carbon economy. We deliver engineering services in production, processing, and distribution services. Also, providing professional and managed services through construction focusing on three key customer drivers: Energy Transition, Energy Resilience, and Energy Connectivity.
This role will be focused on HV Transmission and Distribution. The individual will have overall accountability for successful project delivery including initiation, planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning, and handover/close out. An individual who provides leadership, project management, and inspires a multi-disciplinary team. They will have the ability to determine the most appropriate means of satisfying the customer, project requirements, key objectives, and constraints: Safety, time, cost, quality, scope, risk, and benefits.

Responsibilities
- Holds monthly project review with Scheme Sponsor
- Prepare both internal/external project reports and liaise with stakeholders
- Initiates good scope/information/configuration management principles and work closely with the tendering and design teams
- Ensures reports provide relevant information which enable decisions to be made which are informed, cost effective, and in line with overall strategy
- Ensures scope and package assignment supports the team in coordinating and maintaining working Health Safety & Environmental
- Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees, and supply chain in and around their project
- Carry out periodic Safety & Environmental Tours and promotes observation and safety initiatives
- Produce plans for the team to achieve goals and development aspirations
- Develop high performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent, and assist with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating, and empowering the team.

Essential
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience working in a similar role on a Substation project
- Worked in a complex project environment with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the team
- HND or Degree level in Engineering or Management/Construction discipline
- Experience in Design Management
- Management/construction or experience equivalent
- Holds a current driving licence
- Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the team
- Experience of working on a variety of National Grid project types
- Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery
- Good understanding of the standard forms of contracts
- Proficient in commercial/project management communications
- Experience in implementing safe systems of work
- Working in a complex project environment with multiple stakeholders.
