Senior Project Manager – Construction & Refurbishment

Based within our Maritime & Land business, you’ll lead the Platform Design and Life-support Systems Integrated Delivery Team (PDLS IDT), overseeing Estates projects under the Maritime Strategic Capabilities Agreement (MSCA). Your expertise will guide delivery of buildings refurbishment, technical requirements, and new construction for the QinetiQ Estate, ensuring high-value outcomes (£5m+ annually) that meet internal and external stakeholder commitments.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Project Delivery:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of high-value or complex projects on schedule, cost, and quality.
- Manage engagement with diverse stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are aligned and met.

Financial Responsibility:
- Define, agree, and manage project budgets (up to £5m/year), delivering within cost plans.
- Forecast progress and report accurately on project health.

Risk & Compliance:
- Implement risk management strategies to ensure Safe & Secure operations.
- Maintain compliance with Building Regulations, JSP standards, environmental/ecological legislation, and NEC/JCT/RIBA/CDM regulations.

Documentation & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Manage all project documentation, including bids, proposals, and third-party contracts.
- Serve as a client-facing lead for construction-related projects.
Essential Requirements
Experience
- Construction or Refurbishment Projects: Extensive experience managing 3+ customers with projects through RIBA stages.
- CDEM & Legal Expertise: Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, JCT contracts, NEC 3rd Edition, and CDM Regulations 2015—with prior experience acting as a client or similar role.
- Technical Depth: Broad understanding of civil engineering, infrastructure, and building methods.
Qualifications
- Project Management Certification:
- IPMA Level B (International Project Management Association) with demonstrable alignment.
- APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or Prince2 Practitioner.
