Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager, IT PMO leads complex, cross-functional IT and digital initiatives across SHN, ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery in compliance with governance, cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory standards.

Reporting to: Director, IT PMO


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end IT, digital, and AI-enabled initiatives across clinical and corporate programs.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure alignment with PMBOK® methodologies and SDLC standards.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build account management relationships with corporate programs, departments, and clinical units to capture and prioritize IT projects.
  • Partner with Digital Health, Enterprise Analytics, and operational teams to drive organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners for solution implementation.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

  • Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks per PMO standards.
  • Ensure compliance with PHIPA (privacy laws), cybersecurity, procurement, and regulatory requirements.
  • Align projects with SHN IT governance frameworks, including CPRC, ASRB, and CAB.

Portfolio & Capacity Management

  • Support intake, prioritization, and sequencing of IT initiatives.
  • Contribute to enterprise capacity planning and resource management.
  • Ensure project outcomes align with SHN’s strategic priorities and digital roadmap.

Quality & Culture

  • Drive standardized PMO tools, templates, and reporting practices.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Undergraduate degree in Health, Business, Information Technology, or a related field (required).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (required).

Experience & Expertise

  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in IT or digital project management.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives in healthcare.
  • Strong familiarity with project management frameworks (PMBOK®, Agile, SDLC).
  • Experience with clinical systems (e.g., EMR/Epic), enterprise platforms, or digital transformation is an asset.
  • Healthcare context experience in Canada, with deep understanding of clinical and operational environments.
