Senior Project Manager
Summary: The Senior Project Manager is a key member of the project delivery team. This role will primarily support the delivery of a nuclear sector project within the NSI UK business, with an initial focus on the delivery of a demineralised water treatment facility forming part of a new build nuclear power plant. The role will involve close coordination with engineering, procurement, commercial and site teams to ensure successful project delivery within the nuclear regulatory and quality framework. In addition to nuclear sector responsibilities, the Senior Project Manager will also support the delivery of projects across the wider UK portfolio of Nijhuis Saur Industries as required and supervise / support project managers. Key Focus: Delivery of a demineralised water treatment facility as part of a nuclear new build project from project kick off to completion. Ensuring compliance with nuclear industry quality, safety and regulatory requirements. Effective management of client relationship, programme, cost and project risk. Coordination between engineering, commercial, procurement and site delivery teams. Stakeholder management across clients, supply chain partners and internal project teams. Supporting delivery of projects across other UK sectors within the business as required. Duties and Responsibilities: Accountable for Client, Time, Cost and QESH across assigned projects Accountable for the successful delivery of a project(s), ensuring smooth operation and delivery of high quality to budget and in-line or better than the contract programme. Lead the delivery of a UK nuclear sector project, ensuring compliance with the applicable regulatory, safety and quality standards associated with nuclear new build projects. Develop and implement detailed programmes and schedules which allow accurate monitoring and reporting of progress and implement actions to achieve targeted performance. Develop and implement the Project Execution Plan Identify the quality expectations and record in the Quality Plan. Develop and implement site establishment and ensure the efficient, safe and effective management of site activities. Implement all statutory, regulatory and company requirements for environmental and waste management. Encourage and support innovation/value engineering throughout the design phase. Ensure measures are established for the timely delivery of design information working closely with the design manager. Contribute into supply chain selection process and provide regular feedback and manage supply chain performance. Management of scope change notices in accordance with the contract requirements (e.g., early warnings and compensation notices). Complete all internal/external reporting. Responsible for site level budget control and commercial performance. Accountability for projects from inception to completion. Support the delivery of other UK projects across the company’s industry sectors when required. Required Skills/Qualifications: Degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a design and build project delivery role within the Nuclear industry or other regulated industries is desirable Security Clearance (or able to obtain SC) Recognised project management qualification at APM “professional” level or above (e.g. APM PMQ, PPQ or Chartered Project Professional), or an equivalent PMI/PRINCE2-style certification Experience working within highly regulated industries (such as Nuclear, energy, or major infrastructure) would be advantageous. Effective communicator with a positive, passionate, and engaging approach. Good writing and analytical skills and have solid experience in taking full responsibility and leadership for MEICA disciplines. A focus on supporting and implementing continuous improvement. FIDIC and NEC4 contract knowledge and experience SMSTS CSCS Working for us means: Holidays - 25 plus 8 bank holidays, option to buy or sell 5 days. Probationary Period – 6 months. Pension – Can join immediately or auto enrolled after 3 months - Employee 5% and Employer 5% via salary sacrifice. Eligible to join Private Healthcare after successfully completing probation. Enrolled in Group Income Protection and Death in Service (4 x basic salary) upon commencement of employment. Notice – 1 month during probation, increasing to 3 months thereafter.
