Our role sits within the Water and Wastewater Capital Project Delivery Team, which implements large-scale projects to future-proof water infrastructure while protecting the environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
In your capacity as our Senior Project Manager, your primary objectives include:
- Leadership of complex or large projects: Ensure alignment with safety, quality, commercial, and regulatory standards.
- Strategic oversight: Direct multidisciplinary inputs from engineering, planning, SHEQ, commercial, and site operations.
- Robust governance: Implement programme, cost, and risk controls, acting as the senior escalation point to resolve technical and contractual challenges.
- Stakeholder management: Build and maintain strong relationships at all levels, fostering clear communication and decision-making.
- Financial accountability: Manage forecasting, commercial reporting, and budgetary performance, while controlling scope, variation transfers, and value engineering.
- Integrated planning: Align schedules, resources, and roadmap strategies to hit milestones while mitigating risks.
- Quality and HSE leadership: Drive an environment of safe, accountable, and continually improving performance.
- Team development: Copehr coaching and guidance to develop high-performance teams, sharpening individual and collective capabilities.
- Proactive problem-solving: Perform resourceful risk management, continuous improvement, and balanced decision-making to exceed client and regulatory standards.

What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Project experience: Proven ability to manage large, complex, or multi-disciplinary project delivery covering scope, cost, programme, and quality.
- Leadership skills: Strong track record of leading multidisciplinary teams, including inputs from engineering, construction, commercial, planning, and SHEQ.
- Contract & commercial expertise: Hands-on experience handling agreements such as NEC (New Engineering Contract), JCT and managing contractual variations or penalty clauses.
- Financial acumen: Strong capacity for critical path management, forecasting, and cost control.
- Risk awareness: Demonstrated ability in risk identification, mitigation, and proactive resolution.
- Stakeholder influence: Excellent communication skills at senior levels, with the ability to advocate for outcomes and align expectations.
- Development influence: Proven track record of mentoring project teams and driving performance improvement.
- HSE competency: Extensive HSE requirements understanding, including Safe Working Practices and Health and Safety. Competent certifications include:
- CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate
- Technical tools: Proficiency with PLM (Project Controls tools) and MS Project/Primavera-style software (if available).
- Qualifications: Relevant degree or higher qualification (or equivalent experience).
