The Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead multi-disciplinary engineering projects from design through to construction, commissioning, and handover. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Civil, Building, MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) Engineering oversight
  • Programme, commercial, and HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental) management
  • Delivering projects on-time, on-budget, and to high-quality standards

You’ll ACTively contribute to your development while fostering a one-team culture. This role offers hands-on experience with varied engineering activities, enabling specialised knowledge growth and career advancement.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead one or more projects concurrently, embedding a "one-team" culture.
  • Ensure HSQE compliance on-site, including inspections, toolbox talks, and whiteboard meetings.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain client satisfaction, fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary teams (civil, MEICA, process) to deliver projects within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Act as Principal Designer/Contractor, coordinating documentation and site requirements.
  • Apply Lean Construction and Last Planner techniques for efficiency.
  • Monitor risk management, opportunities, and performance—reporting project status monthly.
  • Lead procurement of materials and subcontracts.
  • Manage commercial operations, ensuring timely payment submissions.
  • Develop and mentor high-performing teams, including talent recruitment.
  • Assist with tender proposals for new projects.
  • Resolve client/stakeholder complaints and implement improvement actions.
  • Drive lessons-learned feedback and innovative solutions for future projects.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in water/wastewater infrastructure.
  • Expertise in Project Management for:
    • Civil engineering (concrete, pipelaying)
    • MEICA systems (mechanical/electrical installations)
  • Ability to handle pressure with strong issue-resolution skills.
  • Commercial acumen for negotiations and financial agreements.
  • Proficiency in programme management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
  • Patience for problem-solving and process adjustments.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK/Irish driver’s licence (essential for site visits).
