I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our corporate design is the face of Munich Re – it’s the first thing people notice. Keeping it consistent makes us recognisable as a brand and distinctive from our competitors.

We are responsible for the visual identity of all corporate and marketing communications across all media and channels. Therefore we create guidelines for Munich Re’s Brand Portal, that provides an overview of the design basics as well as information on all visual elements underlying corporate design, i.e. logo, colour and typography. We advise external agencies on design compliance and provide training. We answer questions about design guidelines, create templates and assist where variations on the corporate design are required.

Your Job

As a design intern, you will support a wide range of activities relating to brand identity, visual design, layout, image search and management, key visual creation and photography.

You will work closely with our Creative Director, the designers and colleagues from the media production team.

Your daily tasks will include ideation and conception, the creation and / or adaption of layouts for e.g. whitepapers, presentations, social media campaigns, websites, event collateral etc., always rooted in our brand identity and based on our corporate design guidelines.

You will contribute to various ongoing projects and gain deep insights into the creation and implementation of corporate communication.
