Senior Project Manager

The successful candidate leads the design and deployment of our clients’ transformed back-office operations processes through the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics ERP & CXM systems and is responsible for delivering the value expected from this work by our clients.

They are the leader for our clients’ ERP & CXM Transformation journey – typically transforming the company’s global operations to a single, simplified, standardized and integrated set of back-office processes and controls. This will be a multi-year program with complex change management, business process standardization, and multi-wave roll-out plan. This position requires onsite work in multiple global locations.

An extremely important aspect of the role is to engage with, manage, communicate with, and ensure senior client stakeholders are effectively engaged throughout the project. The successful candidate will be tasked with maintaining transparent and consistent communication, facilitating stakeholder meetings, and addressing any concerns or feedback promptly to ensure alignment and satisfaction. This is in addition to the details of the role set out in this role description.

Key stakeholders

The following are the key stakeholders for this position:

  • ERP Advisors
    • Reporting to the Head of PMO, the ERP & CXM Transformation Project Manager position will be accountable for successful delivery of our clients’ ERP & CXM Transformation activities using Microsoft ERP solutions.
    • ERP Advisors Project Team members, including but not limited to solution architects, functional consultants, business process specialists, business analysts, change managers, testers, training resources.
  • Client and other
    • The successful candidate will proactively serve as trusted advisor to the Executive Level (C-suite) of our clients’ and is the primary point of contact for all executives, managers, and key contacts.
    • Client subject matter experts, project team members will also be key stakeholders of this role.

The position

As ERP & CXM Transformation Project Manager, you will lead our clients’ Microsoft ERP & CXM Transformation Projects as the trusted representative of ERP Advisors, and develop strong trusted advisor relationships with the Executive leadership teams of our clients. The projects that you will manage are typically aimed at simplifying, standardizing, and globalizing our client’s back-office operations across their business. You will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technology implementation. Your leadership, drive and passion will ensure the active participation and collaboration of key client stakeholders with ERP Advisors colleagues – creating teams that are fully invested in the success of the Microsoft ERP & CXM Transformation programs that you lead.

You will lead the design and deployment of all aspects of our clients’ back-office business process model and its implementation using Microsoft ERP & CXM solutions. The successful applicant must have a strong understanding of our clients’ business processes and supporting capabilities and will possess proven and referenceable experience in the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics ERP & CXM solutions in complex, global business environments. You will recruit, lead and manage a multi-skilled team that contributes to the delivery of our clients’ process and operations model transformation. Your team is typically expected to comprise (not limited to) business analysts, process and workstream leads, solution and integration architects, functional and technical consultants, business analysts, testing, training and change resources from ERP Advisors and client teams as well as Microsoft resources.

Key Accountabilities

  • Be a champion for the vision and business changes that will be delivered for our clients through the ERP & CXM Transformation projects that you lead.
  • Develop, align and execute a comprehensive strategy, plan, deliverables and milestones schedule for the successful design, implementation and deployment of our clients’ transformed business processes onto Microsoft D365 ERP & CXM platforms and be accountable for its alignment with client.
  • Develop, own and align with all stakeholders the project activity and resource plan at the required level of detail to meet all client business needs and requirements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to project scope, budget, and timeline, closely monitoring milestones and deliverables with active participation from stakeholders and aligned with the project plan(s).
  • Manage project staffing and resource acquisition in line with the project plan.
  • Recruit, lead and manage a diverse, cross-functional team with back-office process expertise that can and will deliver on our clients’ business objectives for ERP & CXM Transformation.
  • Establish strong and appropriate governance and quality assurance throughout the lifecycle of the projects that you lead on behalf of ERP Advisors.
  • Depending upon the size and complexity of a specific ERP & CXM Transformation project, either supervise business change strategies and management; or develop and execute a change management strategy and plan that actively involves business stakeholders in facilitating user adoption and transition to the new Microsoft D365 ERP system.
  • Act as the primary liaison for project-related updates, addressing concerns, and facilitating transparent communication between project teams and business stakeholders.
  • Lead the creation and acceptance of the Program Charter and keeping the program aligned with it during execution
  • Create and maintain program control material (issue logs, defect list, risk items and remediation plan, change requests, …).
  • Coordinate and assemble cost estimates and develop the budget for the program. Manage budget and costs for the projects under your leadership and report to the Steering Committee’s for approval and tracking.
  • Create and maintain Program communication material (status updates, meeting minutes, decision list, materials for Steering Committees).
  • Collaborate closely with Microsoft and other external vendors as required, ERP Advisor colleagues, client subject matter experts and stakeholders, to ensure the successful design and deployment of Microsoft Dynamics D365, aligning their efforts with project activities and business priorities.

Required candidate attributes

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Microsoft certification is desirable (preferred).
  • Possession of PMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certifications is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of ERP & CXM Transformation experience, including project planning, execution, and successful delivery with a focus on achieving business-driven outcomes.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale Microsoft Dynamics ERP implementations
  • Experience working with complex large companies with global operations
  • Cross-cultural working experience in Europe, Asia and in the USA related to digital technology implementations
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a track record of delivering business-driven solutions.
  • Prior experience or familiarity with the Services industry is advantageous.
