About the Role
Senior Project Manager (Life Sciences Programme)
Opportunity: Work within a life sciences programme, delivering critical national infrastructure for a central government client.
Focus: Support in delivering secured projects while the organisation scales construction volume—including new buildings and infrastructure network upgrades—for greater works in the upcoming year.
Ideal candidate: Thrives in a high-energy consultancy team, managing both infrastructure and property delivery.
Working Arrangement
- Primary location: Client site in Weybridge, Surrey (3 days per week)
- Secondary location: Moorgate, London
- Security clearance: Successful candidate will undergo BPSS and SC clearance.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage project delivery from inception to completion, ensuring quality and adherence to milestones
- Direct a project manager team, reporting to the client
- Oversee project budgets, implementing change management to control forecast outturn costs vs. budgets
- Maintain live risk registers and lead regular reviews with the wider team
- Manage design teams, consultants, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and service excellence
- Conduct contract administration for contractors and consultants, in line with their contractual terms
- Champion inclusivity, sustainability, and innovation while embodying Mace’s values
- Maintain up-to-date budgets, risk registers, and documentation
Requirements
Essential
- Professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE) or equivalent high-level experience
- Extensive experience in public-sector project/programme delivery
- Strong skills in commercial, financial, and stakeholder management
- Proven track record in new-build project delivery
