Manage stakeholder relationships and facilitate community engagement, both internally and externally. Collaborate with financial and technical teams to establish an optimal project strategy that accounts for risk assessment. Exercise comprehensive accountability for project budgets and schedules. Support team members with complex or atypical planning tasks. Represent the solar team to senior management and across the wider organisation. Identify and recommend process enhancements and increased efficiencies within the Development team. Provide regular project progress reports and deliver detailed risk and opportunity analysis to management. Conduct market analysis for solar energy and actively contribute to the strategic direction of the UK Solar Development Team. Guide and coach junior team members (Assistant Project Managers/Project Managers) through challenging or unusual planning projects. Extensive knowledge of the UK renewable energy market. Knowledge of the NSIP/DCO process is preferred, along with experience working on large-scale renewable projects. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and related applications). Ability to manage multiple projects and relationships simultaneously, including landowners, authorities, advisors and internal stakeholders. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
