The Role: Senior Project Manager
The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership to ensure project management activities comply with Bovis health, safety, and environmental policies. Key responsibilities include:
- Technical, commercial, and operational support
- Coordination between design teams, project management, clients, and supply chains
- Managing costs and quality
- Developing a supportive, collaborative environment
- Meeting client expectations and enhancing Bovis’s reputation
The role involves aligning all stakeholders—design teams, project/site teams, commercial departments, clients, and supply chain—to maximise project success and mitigate risks.

Project Execution & Strategy
- Create and manage detailed project strategies, plans, and schedules
- Ensure high-quality delivery with right-first-time construction principles
- Oversee timely project execution for maximum client and company value

Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain transparent communication and record-keeping with stakeholders
- Facilitate coordination between consultants, supply chain, and delivery teams

Financial Oversight
- Review and manage cost controls and risk mitigation strategies

Stakeholder & External Relationships
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, contractors, and supply chain partners
- Represent Bovis professionally through bilateral negotiation and trust-building

Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to Bovis safety policies, EHS procedures, and regulations
- Promote Incident and Injury-Free (IIF) practices
- Maintain accurate records and assessments for health, safety, and sustainability
Essential Requirements
Qualifications
- A related chartered qualification (e.g., CIOB)
- Degree-level qualification (BSc or MSc) in:
- Project Management
- Building/Construction Studies
- Engineering
Essential Skills
- High emotional intelligence and proven leadership ability
- Track record of delivering successful construction projects
- Experience in project planning, design coordination, and workforce mentoring
- Strong communication skills with ability to lead complex teams
- Ability to adapt working methods for changing project needs
- Proficiency in commercial performance improvement and work package delivery

Essential Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of construction processes and methods
- Broad awareness of current legislations, industry standards, and regulations
- Expertise in programme sequencing and construction stages
- Knowledge of modern technical tools (BIM, BIW, CAD)
Essential Experience
- Pre-construction and site establishment (medium to large-scale projects > £50m)
- Major commercial office and large-scale residential project delivery
- Experience managing design risks, procurement, and supply chains
- Ability to contribute pre-construction planning and bid processes
