The Opportunity
Pick Everard are appointing a Senior Project Manager for our expanding team based at Porton Down, Salisbury. You’ll be working on an exciting mix of projects for one of our prestigious government clients.
As an essential part of our Project Management team, you will:
- Collaborate densely in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a range of projects.
- Coordinate, manage, and communicate with clients, project stakeholders, and external consultants.
- Prepare and issue essential documentation, including:
- Project Execution Plans (PEP)
- Strategy reports
- Risk registers
- Progress reports
- Oversee and manage pre- and post-contract control, including financial expenditure across all RIBA stages.

Key Responsibilities
- Planning, managing, and monitoring projects to deliver against agreed objectives, timescales, budgets, and quality standards.
- Producing and maintaining Project Initiation Documents (PID) and Project Execution Plans (PEP).
- Preparing and presenting Highlight Reports, collaborating with project teams, and securing Project Board approval.
- Identifying, assessing, and managing project risks, maintaining risk registers, and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Developing and maintaining project programmes and schedules, ensuring effective progression tracking and reporting.
- Ensuring project performance and resource utilisation align with delivery objectives, initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, including external accreditation and regulatory partners.
- Managing project outcomes and benefits in line with both business and client objectives.
- Providing strategic insight to address business needs and make impactful decisions for successful delivery.
- Completion of Post Project Evaluation Reports, capturing lessons learned and driving continuous improvement.

Note: As this role will involve work for a government client, security clearance will be required. Successful candidates must:
- Obtain (or currently hold)** Security Clearance (SC level).
- Be a British national to undergo the clearance process.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent knowledge of construction processes and proven Project Management experience within construction.
- Clear risk management understanding, including identification, mitigation, and transfer of risk.
- Expertise in monitoring progress and financial expenditure through all RIBA stages.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts and ability to administer them efficiently.
- Experience in leadership and team direction within a construction or project management context.
Nice to haves:
- Membership of a construction professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB, CIBSE).
- HNC, HND, or degree in a construction-related discipline.
- PRINCE2 (or APM) Foundation/Practitioner certification.
- Excellent bid-writing and presentation skills.
- Understanding of BIM technology.
