This position reports to:

Head of Project Management Office

As Senior Project Manager

You'll take ownership of the successful delivery of medium to large-scale, technically complex projects that help ABB's Energy Industries customers improve productivity, efficiency, and sustainability. You'll provide the leadership needed to deliver outstanding customer outcomes while balancing commercial performance, quality, safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, you'll play a key role in upholding ABB's reputation for innovation, integrity, and world-class project delivery, while driving continuous improvement and creating lasting value for our customers and the business.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

  • Lead the successful delivery of complex projects from handover through to completion, taking ownership of planning, execution, and overall project performance.
  • Build, inspire, and develop high-performing project teams through coaching, mentoring, and creating an environment where people can thrive.
  • Drive projects to successful outcomes by managing scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and cash flow to achieve commercial and operational objectives.
  • Partner with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders, becoming their trusted point of contact and ensuring exceptional communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks while capitalising on opportunities to maximise value for both ABB and our customers. Ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, governance, and contractual compliance, applying industry best practices at every stage.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain and commercial teams to procure services and materials, manage project changes, and support successful contract delivery.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and driving enhancements to project delivery methods and PMO standards.
  • Lead by example in promoting ABB's values, maintaining the highest standards of integrity, and ensuring compliance with our Code of Conduct and business processes.
  • Put safety first by fostering a strong Health, Safety and Environment culture, ensuring the wellbeing of employees, contractors, customers, and everyone involved in project delivery

Qualifications for the Role

  • Significant experience in project management.
  • Proven track record of managing full project lifecycle, including scope, schedule, cost control, and vendor/subcontractor management.
  • Strong collaborative and solution-oriented mindset, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience managing teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advance Planning, Scheduling and Organisational skills. Relevant qualifications such as an engineering or technical degree, or a recognised project management certification.
  • Strong commitment to professional development in project management.
  • Willingness to travel and engage face to face with our customers.
