About the Role: Senior Project Manager (Water & Environment)
Our Water and Environment Operating Unit combines leadership in scientific and engineering expertise to advise clients on the sustainable management of natural water environments. We are looking for experienced Senior Project Managers to join our UK-based team and help shape the future of water sustainability.
The Opportunity You will:
- Lead water and environmental projects/programmes, ensuring accountability for deliverables, timelines, budgets, resources, and risk management.
- Act as the primary client contact, building trusted relationships and communicating effectively across all stakeholders.
- Operate in a high-complexity environment—driving performance while encouraging agile working techniques and ensuring compliance with safety, health, and welfare legislation.
Key Responsibilities As a Senior Project Manager, your role includes:
- Project delivery: Translate complex client requirements into successful outcomes, maintaining commercial awareness and technical understanding.
- Stakeholder engagement: Build and nurture client relationships in public and private sectors, positioning Jacobs as a valued partner.
- Risk/change management: Protect project success through proactive risk mitigation while identifying innovation opportunities.
- Team leadership: Cultivate inclusive, high-performing teams by promoting collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
- Mentorship: Guide junior team members and reinforce a culture of continuous improvement.
- Contract sophistication: Manage projects under Multiple Contract Terms (NEC3/4), leveraging strong commercial acumen for both delivery excellence and business growth.
- Safety and quality: Drive shared commitment to safety-first culture and high-quality outcomes.

Requirements
Essential skills/experience: ✔ Proven project management experience across multidisciplinary projects (Infrastructure/Water/Design & Build). ✔ Leadership track record in managing high-performing teams and delivering under strict timelines/budgets—evidence of successful solo/coordinated project oversight across sectors. ✔ Expertise in project planning, risk management, budget/resource optimisation, and contract management. ✔ Degree in engineering, environmental sciences, project management, or a relevant field.
