Senior Project Manager
Senior Project Manager (12-Month FTC) – CMC Markets
About the Role
CMC Markets is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC) to lead large-scale, multi-stream business change initiatives—driving successful delivery from inception to completion. This is a high-impact role, requiring collaboration across business and technology teams to execute strategic transformation in a dynamic, regulated fintech environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex, cross-functional projects across technology, operations, compliance, risk, finance, and front office teams, ensuring alignment and on-time delivery
- Own whole-project lifecycle management, including:
- Initiation and mobilisation
- Detailed planning
- Execution
- Closure and benefits realisation
- Develop and maintain:
- Robust project plans
- Governance frameworks
- RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependences)
- High-quality reporting packs for Steering Committees and senior stakeholders
- Continuously reassess delivery plans to reflect evolving business objectives, balancing competing demands across multiple initiatives and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
- Provide clear impact assessments and options analysis when reprioritisation is required, enabling leadership to make informed decisions through structured evaluation of risk, cost, and benefit
- Partner with business leaders to:
- Define target operating models
- Drive organisational readiness and process redesign
- Facilitate behavioural change, where required
- Support cross-functional resource planning to balance demand across business and technology workstreams
- Engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, delivering:
- Clear, concise, and influential communication
- Articulate insights and recommendations

Requirements
- Proven track record as a Project Manager (or equivalent) with experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects in regulated Financial Services environments
- Strong ability to manage stakeholders at all levels, including:
- Influencing and building credibility with senior leadership
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Relevant experience within a regulated environment (financial services preferred)
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with:
- Sound judgement
- Strong prioritisation skills
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities
- Comfortable operating autonomously, demonstrating:
- Ownership
- Pace and precision
- High attention to detail, balanced with a strategic perspective
- Adaptable and resilient, able to thrive in a fast-moving, multi-tasking environment
- Solid understanding of:
- Project management methodologies
- Governance best practices
- Previous experience in Project Management, Delivery Management, or Change Management roles
