Senior Project Manager with a strong background delivering complex data, technology and business transformation projects within Energy Trading environments. This role sits at the heart of a fast-moving trading organisation, where data is becoming a strategic asset, enabling better trading decisions, operational efficiency and business innovation.
A global name in the Energy & Commodities market, who manage risk on behalf of clients whilst also trading their own capital across the Energy sector (Power, Gas, LNG, Oil, Environmental Products), are investing heavily in their enterprise-wide Data & Technology Transformation. Backed by one of the world's largest energy organisations, they are modernising how data is managed, governed and utilised across the business.
This includes major transformation programmes across Data, Technology and Business Change, including:
- Enterprise-wide Data Transformation initiatives
- Delivery of strategic Data Platforms and Engineering capabilities
- Data Governance, Data Quality and Regulatory initiatives
- Business process optimisation across Trading, Risk and Operations
- Delivery of complex cross-functional technology programmes

As a result, they are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with an Energy Trading background to lead a portfolio of strategic projects and ensure successful delivery across both business and technology.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of technical and non-technical projects, leading delivery from mobilisation through to implementation. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned to strategic objectives.
- Up to £900/Day Inside IR35
- 6 Month Rolling Contract (Long-term Programme)
- 3 Days Per Week Onsite
- Location: London
- Energy Trading experience essential (Power, Gas, LNG or Commodities)
As the Senior Project Manager you will:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex Data, Technology and Business Transformation programmes
- Own a portfolio of projects from mobilisation through to successful delivery
- Manage project plans, budgets, governance, risks and resource planning
- Work closely with senior business stakeholders, Data, IT and Engineering teams
- Drive effective stakeholder communication across business and technology functions
- Manage programme risks, dependencies and critical path activities
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned to business objectives
- Support enterprise-wide Data Transformation and modernisation initiatives

Experience needed for the Senior Project Manager role:
- Strong Project Management experience within Energy Trading (essential)
- Experience with Zema hugely advantageous
- Proven experience delivering large-scale Data, Technology and Business Change programmes
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional teams
- Excellent stakeholder management, governance and communication skills
- Strong experience managing budgets, planning, project reporting and resource management
- Experience delivering projects involving Data Platforms, Data Engineering or Data Governance is highly desirable
- Experience working across Trading, Risk, Operations and Technology teams
- Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall or Hybrid)
