Advanced Automation
Location - Warwick - Hybrid with UK wide travel
Salary - Up to £75,000 p.a. + Paid Overtime + Extensive benefits package
Shape the delivery of some of the UK's most complex engineering and automation projects.
We're retained by a global engineering organisation to appoint an experienced Senior Project Planner who can bring real project delivery expertise to a highly visible role within a major programme delivery team. This is far more than a planning position.
We're looking for someone who has actually delivered complex engineering projects and understands the realities of keeping major programmes on track. Whether your background is as a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Programme Manager, Project Controls Manager or Lead Planner, you'll know what good delivery looks like-and more importantly, how to recover projects when things don't go to plan.
You'll become a trusted advisor to senior project teams, influencing delivery strategy, challenging assumptions and providing the insight needed to improve project performance across a portfolio of large-scale engineering programmes.
The Opportunity
Working across multiple high-value projects, you'll take ownership of programme scheduling and project controls, partnering closely with Project Managers, engineering teams and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
