Job Description

Start here. Grow here.

Due to a rapidly growing portfolio of projects across our Environment and Energy business, an exciting opportunity has opened for a Senior Planner to join us! You will provide project scheduling, programme controls expertise, and technical support across AECOM’s Environment & Energy portfolio, supporting the successful delivery of complex infrastructure, energy transition, and environmental projects.

The role is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining integrated project schedules, coordinating delivery programmes, monitoring performance, and providing high-quality programme management insight to project teams, clients, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop, manage, and maintain integrated project schedules for complex environmental, energy, and infrastructure projects.
  • Establish and maintain baseline programmes, including work breakdown structures, logic sequencing, key milestones, dependencies, and critical path analysis.
  • Support project teams with programme development, progress measurement, forecasting, and schedule updates.
  • Monitor progress against approved programmes, identifying variance, trends, delays, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify critical activities, delivery risks, constraints, and required mitigation actions.
  • Prepare programme reports, dashboards, and schedule analysis to support project decision-making.
  • Support change control activities through assessment of programme impacts, mitigation measures, and recovery planning.
  • Provide schedule input into project bids, proposals, and business development activities.

Programme Controls & Delivery Support

  • Support Project Managers and Delivery Leads with effective programme management and project controls.
  • Maintain accurate project schedule information and ensure timely reporting of progress, performance, and forecast outcomes.
  • Support progress reporting and continuous improvement of project planning processes.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, environmental, commercial, and delivery teams to improve programme certainty and project outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
