Senior Project Scheduler
We are seeking a highly organised Project Scheduler to create and maintain project schedules. You will be collaborating with project managers, the project team, sub-contractors in setting tasks and monitoring the execution against of project timelines. Your role will be critical in evaluating actual progress against planned forecasts, whilst establish earned value principals and proposing remedial actions. A key element of the role will be looking to exploit opportunities to improve project performance. It will be necessary to prepare project reports and support accurate forecasting. To ensure success, project schedulers should possess transferable industry knowledge (automation, oil & gas, construction) and demonstrable experience in project scheduling. Ideal candidates will have an engineering background to be able to understand basic automation concepts. We offer: Career Development Competitive Compensation and Benefits Pay Transparency Global Opportunities Learn More Here: https://www.dematic.com/en-us/about/careers/what-we-offer/ Tasks and Qualifications: Principal Accountabilities: Consulting with project managers and technical experts to develop and generate new schedules in line with Dematic standards & best practice – to the right level of detail, understanding the importance of sequencing and assignment of tasks to individuals and functions. Actively gather progress information (and challenge) from the project team, including subcontractors, factory orders and customer dependencies to maintain the project schedule and allow for effective monitoring and reporting of the project. Ensure that reporting is accurate and representative of the actuals. Proactively highlight issues and delays with the project manager and propose mitigation and remedial actions. Analyse hours spent vs progress to provide potential earned value models and improve accuracy the of both schedule and financial “estimate to complete” forecast. Exploit opportunities in the project schedule to improve project performance (schedule or margin) or reducing risk through ongoing analysis. Analysis of scheduling variations to support extensions of time and or defend / create change orders between Dematic and their suppliers or customers. Ensuring all schedule changes are clearly documented and recorded for internal auditing or defend external claims. This includes improve the accuracy of standards on solutions and product installations. Help raise the maturity of project delivery by proposing or being part of PMO improvement initiatives to help with tooling and standard templates. Be an active member of the Project Management community and support and help Project Managers in their own scheduling. Knowledge & Experience Required Minimum of 5 years as a Project Scheduler within a transferable industry in either Automation, Oil & Gas, or construction. Experience in application scheduling techniques to support improvement in project performance such as Earned Value, PERT analysis, and Critical Chain. Engineering or Scientific background Communicating progress, change and influencing others not in the team Strong analytical skills and problem solve through resequencing events. Extensive experience in schedule planning and management. Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software, specifically MS Project and Project Server. Degree or experiential equivalent in Project Management, Engineering or related field. Project Management (PMP or APM) or Project Schedule Qualification (PMI-SP). Full UK Driving Licence As a part of this position you will be required to travel to various customer and project sites on a regular basis. At times you will be 100% based at the project site during critical phases of the project and at the discretion of the Project & Project Managers requirements.
