The Role
The Senior Project Sponsor will engage with clients and implementation teams to enable successful delivery of complex enhancement schemes into operation on behalf of Transport for Wales (TfW).
Role Responsibilities
- Sponsor the development and implementation of complex transport programmes by acting as the point of contact for the external client and the project delivery team, providing insight, advice and recommendations to ensure TfW is meeting client's needs whilst minimising disruption to passengers and the local communities.
- Ownership of project and programme Business Cases by holding the project delivery team to account against the agreed proposals and safety obligations (including common safety method) to ensure that rail enhancement schemes meet the safe and effective operation of the rail services for Wales & Borders and that benefits are realised upon completion.
- Facilitate the use of Common Safety Method by overseeing the project delivery team's adherence to these standards to ensure TfW is continuing to safely deliver projects to time, cost and quality.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities insert here
- Maintain clarity of the financial position of complex transport schemes by undertaking client and funder engagements and working closely with the project delivery teams to identify potential changes in budget requirements to be able to time, cost and quality.
Who We're Looking For
- Previous experience in project management with an understanding of project lifecycles.
- Experience of effective stakeholder management with conflicting stakeholder approaches.
- Experience of leading and managing complex investment schemes.
- Experience of preparing and managing sizeable budgets.
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
