Job Description: Senior PROMIS MES Engineer (VAX/VMS)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior PROMIS MES Engineer with extensive hands-on expertise supporting and administering PROMIS Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in a VAX/VMS environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of PROMIS architecture, VMS system administration, and semiconductor manufacturing operations, with the ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize mission-critical manufacturing systems.
This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of the PROMIS MES platform while supporting manufacturing operations and collaborating with engineering, IT, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support the PROMIS MES environment running on VAX/VMS platforms.
- Configure, maintain, and support PROMIS components including:
- Datalink
- Interactive Scripts (Interactive with DCL)
- GUI via Apache Server
- Other core PROMIS modules (ASPC, TMS, AE, RTI) and utilities
- ODS (Operational Data Store)
- XML Gateway
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot VMS DCL scripts used for system administration, automation, and operational support.
- Support production deployments, upgrades, system changes, and maintenance activities.
- Work closely with manufacturing engineers, process engineers, and operations teams to implement system improvements.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures and technical documentation.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, backup, and system recovery activities.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and application teams to ensure system reliability and performance.

Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience supporting PROMIS MES in a VAX/VMS environment.
- Expert-level knowledge of PROMIS architecture and manufacturing workflows.
- Strong experience with:
- PROMIS System Monitoring
- System Administration and Maintenance
- Datalink configuration and troubleshooting
- Interactive Scripts
- Knowledge of Apache and IIS
- Production support and troubleshooting
- Strong proficiency with OpenVMS DCL (Digital Command Language), including developing, modifying, and troubleshooting DCL command procedures and batch jobs.
- Hands-on experience creating, maintaining, and debugging PROMIS Interactive Scripts.
- Extensive experience with PROMIS Datalink, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues under time-sensitive conditions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL, including querying and troubleshooting manufacturing data (Oracle \ MS SQL).
- Working knowledge of Linux system administration.
- DCL & PCL Scripting
- RTI & TP
- Experience with C# ASP.Net development or application support.
- Experience integrating PROMIS with enterprise applications and manufacturing systems.
- Knowledge of MES architecture, factory automation, and manufacturing data flows e.g. Building Routes, Familiarity with PPRODs Structures.
- Experience participating in system migrations, upgrades, or modernization initiatives.

This position is ideal for a highly experienced PROMIS professional with deep expertise in VAX/VMS environments, OpenVMS DCL scripting, PROMIS Datalink, and Interactive Scripts, who can ensure the continued reliability and performance of a mission-critical manufacturing execution system while supporting future modernization initiatives.
Pay Range
P60-USA-1 :$112,050.00 - $160,050.00
