Weāre hiring for a Senior Prompt Engineer to lead the design, optimisation, and scaling of advanced prompting strategies for large language models (LLMs), delivering context-aware, safe, and efficient AI outputs across complex enterprise use cases.
- Location: Flexible / Hybrid (UK-based)
- Security: SC Cleared / Eligible Required
Role Overview
This role involves:
- Collaborating with engineering teams to integrate prompts into application workflows, autonomous agents, and RAG pipelines
- Focusing on performance improvement, latency reduction, and output consistency
- Ensuring safe and scalable deployment of LLMs with real-time monitoring and refinement

- Design and implement dynamic, business-specific prompting strategies
- Optimise LLM performance (token efficiency, latency, hallucination reduction)
- Integrate prompts into agent-based systems, APIs, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures
- Develop reusable prompt frameworks and templating for scalable deployment
- Establish evaluation, benchmarking, and regression testing mechanisms
- Implement guardrails for prompt safety, injection prevention, and behavior control
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical prompt logic
- Maintain a version-tracked prompt repository for continuous performance iterations

Skills & Experience
Requirements
- 5+ years in software engineering, including 2+ years in production-level prompt engineering
- Expertise in LLMs:
- Proficiency with GPT-4, Claude, Llama, Mistral, Nova, or similar models
- Advanced coding skills in Python and/or Java
- AI orchestration frameworks:
- Hands-on experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, and similar tools
- Prompt evaluation & monitoring:
- Expertise with LangSmith, Fiddler, InspectAI or OpenAI Evals
Preferences
- Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Computer Science, AI, Statistics, Cognitive Science, or related quantitative fields
