Senior Proximity Developer

Senior Proximity Developer (VP) – Commodities Markets 📍 London | Front Office Technology | Global Markets

Are you a hands-on developer with strong C#/.NET expertise and experience working directly with trading desks? This is a high-impact role where your work will sit at the core of Commodities trading, supporting real-time decision-making in a front-office environment.

Why this role? This is a true front-office technology position where you will: Work directly with traders, sales, and quants Build applications that are used in live trading environments Take ownership from idea through to production and support Operate in a fast-paced, high-stakes banking environment

Key requirements (must-have) Strong experience in C# / .NET development Solid banking background with exposure to Front Office environments Good understanding of derivatives and options (Greeks, pricing, curves) Experience within Commodities markets (highly preferred) Mid–Senior level experience with proven ownership of systems

What you’ll be doing Partner with Front Office users to gather, analyse, and anticipate business needs Design and deliver custom proximity applications for trading and risk Evaluate and propose multiple technical solutions to support business decisions Build and maintain robust, scalable systems in a production environment Provide hands-on support for business-critical trading tools Drive continuous improvement through enhancements, bug fixes, and optimisation Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions Collaborate with Quants, MO/BO teams, and global IT stakeholders

Technical environment C# / .NET Core, Entity Framework WPF (or similar desktop UI frameworks) Angular (nice to have) SQL Server, MongoDB Microservices & containerisation Market data integration (Bloomberg, Reuters)
